Matrices on IIC? Help!

I'm taking IIC on May, and I wanted to know if matrices were on IIC. Do we have to know cofactor and all that stuff?
What about ellipses/hyperbolas and statistics?

To those who have taken IIC before, roughly how many questions did you see on each of those topics (matrices, ellipses/hyperbolas, statistics)?

When I took the IIC, there were no matrices whatsoever. In my preparation for the test, however, I read a IIC test summary on PR that said that a matrix question popped up. Don't worry though; that's one question out of 50, and you only need a raw score of around 43 to get the 800. There were no ellipses or hyperbolas either. If these ever show up, they'd probably cover 1-2 questions at the most. There was one question on statistics. It went like this:

Which set has the least standard deviation?
1004, 1000, 996
1001, 1000, 1001
1000, 1000, 1000
etc...

Tough stuff, eh? You only need a superficial understanding of the major topics tested and a glancing understanding of the miscellaneous topics. BTW, there are test prep books for the IIC written by Rusen Meylani that are probably the best out there, even though they're rife with errors and expensive. Consider them if you need practice.

matrices are easy..
ur TI-83 can do everything w/ them...

Ellipses + Hyperbolas.. just remember formulas..

Statistics = Mean, STD, Maybe Mode..
Probability = Very common!!!

When I took the SAT II in math, I think that I had one question on matrices and one question on ellipses. They weren't very hard just remember your basic formulas for ellipses and you can use the matrix feature on your calc. or do it by hand.

There was 1 question on matrices when i took it. It was actually a 3 by 3 determinant question. But they are similar.

thanks for all the info.
For prepbook:
What do you think about Sparknotes 5 more practice tests? Too easy/hard/similar/not similar?
Are PR's and Kaplan's and Barron's similar/hard/easy?
Please rate.

There was a matrix on my test. It said a matrix of certain dimensions multiplied by another matrix gave you a matrix of ____ dimensions. It said the dimensions of the 2nd and 3rd, and you had to find the dimensions of the first.

Barron's: a lot harder than the test (but helpful if you like overprepping)
Sparknotes: a little easier than the test, but pretty similar

MAtrices on iic will be probably a 2x2 at the most. ACtually, I think there was one on the iic I took back last MAy. just know the basics.

Matrices on 2C can also be 3 by 3, plus you must know the determinants too, knowing matrix multiplication may also help
