What school? Those names could mean the same or similar courses.
Matrix algebra is a subset of linear algebra.
Frankly, probably neither will apply (unless you go into graphics), and they are very similar. I’d say Linear Algebra so you get a general overview of more things, but it really won’t matter much at all. Pay attention to professors and if one is terrible and the other is good, go with that. Class times, same thing.
