Matt Leinart's Fall Schedule

UMrunner08....

college football is almost a sport entirely of its own. in the opinion of many, including me, greater and much more fun to watch than professional. the legends don't get any bigger than the classic college football stories and heroes, the sport creates legends, and the cfootball heroes stay heroes for the rest of their lives. the sports a lot more pure than the nfl, that's for sure. whats wrong with a qb reaching for greatness and legendary status at the college football level as leinart is doing. i personally thought it was a great decision, for his team, himself, and the sport of football to stay in school.

honestly, I give him credit for getting his degree. So many college football players don't. But, I think he should have to take whatever load the school requires to be a "full academic student".

Yeah, don't most football players take light schedules anyway?

The football team practiced in the brand new Artificial Turf field in the Track & Field Stadium a couple of days ago, so I was able to watch them. Matt Leinart wasn't doing much, sitting on the sidelines most of the time. However, I was surprised that Pete Carroll didn't have a heart attack after practice; the guy's hyper, running around the field like crazy! He kept getting annoyed that his whistle would conflict with that of Arthur Bartner, whose Trojan Marching Band was on the next practice field.

Matt Leinert was stupid for not going to the NFL. He had his great run last year, and it was time for him to move to the NFL. He could get hurt this year, or play absolutely horribly (I doubt it, but hey it could happen). He would have been the #1 pick for sure, ensuring him millions. If for some reason he doesn't play as well this year, or he gets hurt, he could lose tens of millions. I love USC football, and I love to see them have a great team, but for him it was stupid to not go to the NFL. I hope he has a great season, but it is still a risky one.

Well if he would've went to the NFL, he would've been the #1 pick in the draft, going to the 49ers. And lets get real here, USC could probably beat the 49ers this year.
