Do I need a mattress pad at Cornell? Btw, I'm staying in the Ecology house- please respond and tell what dorm you stay in. Thanks!

Hi! I’m a rising sophomore and lived in Donlon last year, but I believe all the mattresses are the same. Personally, I had three mattress pads- one for comfort, one antibacterial one, and one anti-bedbug one. Not sure if it was all necessary, but my bed was very comfortable! You should probably get at least one mattress pad. I recommend going to Bed Bath and Beyond if you live somewhere near one and checking out their packing list (it’s probably posted online as well) and then doing what they say! They also have a store in Ithaca.

Hi! I’m also a rising sophomore, and I would definetly recommend one! I had a memory foam one that was amazing, and a antibacterial one under that. It really helps make the bed more comfortable.

it definitely helps.

Ok- Thanks, I will get one then :)

Anyone have comments on the anti-bed bug mattress covers? Are they recommended? (they’re a bit pricey). Are bed bugs an issue?

I haven’t heard of anyone having bed bug problems (there may have been one issue in one room of a different dorm, but that’s only one out of almost 4000 so I wouldn’t get one (none of my friends have them and neither do I)

Great. Thanks, cbear.

Hey Renomamma, I actually posted a question asking that too, and some people provided answers. If you want to read that, here’s a link: <a href=“Bed Bugs - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1661242-bed-bugs.html

Thanks, kaywhy
