Do people often have mattress pads in their dorms? I hear that the beds are often terribly uncomfortable so I was thinking about getting one. I really like the way the memory foam ones feel. I was wondering if a 3in or a 4in one would be best. I found some deals online and both are under $100. My parents have one that is 2.5in and I really like it. I'm sure that the 3inch would feel great but I wonder if the 4in would be even better or would it be a little firmer due to the thickness. Has anyone had experience with them?

The thicker it is, the denser the mattress pad will be. This also means it will be firmer.

I have one for my queen bed, and I’m buying a twin sized one when I go off to college. I had back, neck, and shoulder pains, and the memory foam helped a lot.

I’m bringing one that I’m stealing from my brother. He doesn’t need it anymore. It’s a nice memory foam pad. I have no idea what brand it is, but it seems comfortable, and definitely better than any of the low cost stuff I’ve seen in the stores (well, except this one pad at the Bonton that’s $20 and quite nice, it’s reduced from like $90 or something).

When I first said to my mom that I wanted one she kind of scoffed at the idea, but she came around and said she would buy me something til she found my brother’s.
