Mattresses

If I'm bringing my own mattress, what do I do with the mattress that's already provided? Does USC have any specific instructions on mattress diposal?

haha.....you've watched one too many episodes of Gilmore Girls...

and i thought i was bringing too much stuff =]

most likely would have to keep the one that’s there (if you move out & such)…should look into that before bringing something like that

Well, after sleeping in the dorms during orientation I realized I need my own mattress. And my parents think that would be a hassle [storage, what to do w/ it over the summer etc], so I'm trying to change their minds.

Hmmm...sunnydaysee, were the mattresses bad? I was thinking of buying one of those foam mattress covers. Are the mattresses soft or hard (or are they just too old)?

Just an FYI for making beds more comfortable, you can buy an XL feather bed at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for about $40 rather than purchasing a brand new matress. They seem pretty nice, I'm going to be getting one for school, and with Bed, Bath, and Beyond you can pick out all the items you want at the store closest to you and pick them up at the store closest to USC.

get one of those memory foam mattress covers, should help
