Hi folks, I live in Scotland and I have always wanted to study at Yale ever since i've learned about the place. I would love to study the MA in Playwriting at the Yale School of Drama.

I just wanted to ask; does experience count towards your application as much as university/college results?

I have a third in my BA (Hons) Film & Media, a partial HNC in Practical Journalism, i've been credited by a Scottish national tabloid for a college project, I have had articles published in regional papers and I have completed two feature length screenplays for film. I am now 30 years old and I was thinking I may be a bit long in the tooth for studying there lol.

I also have experience in the music business (managing bands, also worked for a label for a while), I have worked as a B2B salesman in the past and I am an experienced lifelong drummer and percussionist.

I only managed to get a third for my degree but I was battling an illness at the time (now fully recovered).

Thanks Booklady. I’m going to be working on my theatre experience in the coming year and I am currently getting into writing plays (i’m not applying to Yale right now) I realise that my working writing experience is mainly editorial stuff (but I have been a lifelong writer). I am just wondering; can you still apply for an undergraduate degree even if you have already obtained one?
