Max # Retakes Frowned upon by which Colleges?

Exactly 112358, exactly.

For those against taking test more than 3 times–
What do you think about practice tests?

Do you think it is worthwhile to take practice tests more than 3 times?

Personally, I’ve had 100 point fluctuations in my score depending on the day.
Is that very unusual? That’s why I was wondering about max#.
I also hope that a 2400 occurs.

Practice tests are for practice, so go ahead.
&no, score variation is common, which is why there are curves

Well, there are people out there that prepared for the test for 2 years before taking it, and then took it once and did well versus people that didn’t really do too much inbetween and took it 3 times. So you can’t say one or the other is more or less impressive. In the end it’s a stupid standardized test both ways.

Take them as many times as you’d like. The Collegeboard book has 10 SATs to study from; I would only take these practice tests and not use unofficial practice tests as they can be deceptive.

Someone who studies a lot for the SAT and gets a good score is equivalent to someone who gets a good score on his or her first try.

I however do advocate taking it fewer times and studying more in between. What people fear is that someone who takes it more will statistically have a higher chance of getting “lucky” and pulling off a higher score. I don’t really think this happens to often so it’s not one of my concerns.
