<p>Usually 800-900 word essays are daunting enough. Unless you are absolutely sure that a complete stranger would find every word of your topic as interesting as you find it, you should probably try to make it shorter. Concise essays are usually more powerful anyway.</p>
<p>I know it’s hard to cut down your own writing–I am guilty of writing long essays as well–so it might help if you got a teacher, or some other unbiased source (i.e. not parents and best friends), to edit your essay.</p>
