Maximum credits from community college

I already have 65 credits and an AS degree from a CC. I believe I reached the maximum amount of credits from a community college that can be transferred.

However, I plan on taking 2 pre reqs for the business school this summer at a CC.

Will Rutgers accept credits from these 2 courses? or will they remove 6 credits from my AS degree and substitute these in?

magnet311, since you already have your AS and will be a Rutgers student, I believe the steps you must take to receive credits from additional courses from a CC should be the same as any other Rutgers student trying to take summer classes at CC to save money. That is, fill out some forms and get Rutgers to approve of the classes you will take, and the credits will transfer in smoothly.

Thanks! I will do that!

I just called Office of Academic Services and they can’t “advise” me because I am technically not a student yet. So, I will just take them and i really don’t think they will deny transferable credits.

i actually am doing something similar, i am taking calculus this summer at CC, instead of at RU, and it pushes me to about 70 credits. she said that that is fine, and that they will take the credits that i need, not the useless ones i needed for CC. ( so instead of counting my pre-calc class, she said they will take my calc credits)

so, im sure you are more then fine with taking those pre-reqs.

Thanks Chey!

no problem (:
