Hello, I am a low-income student who was to take my third SAT in November. I have taken it twice already with fee waivers and shown a 120-point increase from March to June. I was looking to take it one last time to increase my disproportionately low math score, but I was stopped while registering by the collegeboard website. I was not aware of the fact that fee waivers only cover the first two SATs taken…
Is there anything I can do? I truly can’t ask my parents to pay for it. I’m hesitant about even asking them to pay for my previous scores to be sent.
I was under the impression that the high school can give out only two SAT fee waivers per student, I did not know Collegeboard also keeps track of that and limits it to two.
What was your first SAT score, second? CR , M, W scores on each?
If your math is still too low, I don’t think it will go up much more unless you work with a tutor.
There is not much time left. Applications are due soon.
If you can’t afford to pay I would focus on doing math practice tests and then ask a teacher about the questions you had the most problem with.
Try a few ACT practice tests as well, some find the ACT easier although it is really fast paced.
As far as sending your scores from your previous SAT tests, if you used a fee waiver then you get 4 scores sent for free. So pick the schools carefully. Also some schools accept the scores if they are listed in your transcript do fibd out if that is an option.
Also check your collegeboard account for your free application fee waivers.
