The maximum allowable units at UC are around 200 or 250… I’m not positive how many I have from CC but I reached max a while back. I’m worried that I won’t be able to stay within the UC’s unit limit. I really need the financial aid.
When they say their maximum units are 200, are they including CC units?
Only 70-semester units (or 105 quarter units) will transfer to the UC. If you took more at the CC, they will not transfer over and will not count towards the UC limit.
Excess units will come over as subject credit but not for graduation credit. Also, any AP credit units come over, those are not included in the 70/105 cutoff.
Any lower division units from any college cap at 70 semester/105 quarter. That’s because they want you to take a certain amount at the UC. You will get subject credit for all courses, but you will just get 70 units applied even if you take 150 units. Consider the 70 as virtual units. As someone noted earlier, AP is added on top of the 70 and will not put you in jeopardy. The only time there is a change in this computation is if you have previous UC units, which are calculated differently.
