Does anyone know what's the maximum units for Engineering major is to transfer out?

I'm calculated that I have to take over 90+ units to finish. And most of them are "pre-reqs".....I saw the UCSD website, where the maximum is 70 units.......

I know they have TAG...but what about the top 2: LA and Berkeley???

I mean.... for Berkeley...if you miss one....it's an "automatic" rejection. So if they have a limit....how do we get into UCLA and Berkeley???

and FINISH our pre-req if we want to??

I heard from my admission office that the maximum units the UCs would take is 70 transferable units. UCLA and UC Berkeley don’t offer TAG but UCLA have thing like honor classes to boost up your chance to get in. You should talk to your counselor to make sure.

Everything you want/need to know about California CC to UC transfer can be found here:

[University of California - California community college transfers](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/requirements/community-college/index.html)

UCB and UCLA do not have TAG but do participate in TAP (formerly TAHP(?)), which is the transfer honors program. Participation in TAP will greatly improve your chances of acceptance to those two schools. Although the vast majority of accepted transfers to the UCs are from California CCs, it is still extremely competitive and more so for majors like engineering. Those who are accepted are typically those who have performed at an exceptional level prior to transfer.

LACC district has an articulation agreement with both CSU and UC systems so it is indicated in the catalogs which classes are transferable and for how many credits. You should lose very few if any credits when transferring, but check individual schools to be sure because each UC is different. Also, for a few majors they prefer you complete all of the lower division classes prior to transfer and I believe engineering is one of those. For those majors, credits beyond the 70 credit cap may be awarded.
