I am a community college student willing to transfer to a UC.

I am planning on doing an internship of more than 300 hours this summer so I should get 5 units and I might do a second one which would give me one or two more units. Those units would be on a P/NP basis and the problem is that I know that we can have/transfer (?) only 12 P/NP units AND I would like to take some classes on a P/NP basis that are not related at all to my major like Biology and Arts etc.

So my concern is that I am afraid that by doing too many internships I will not have any P/NP units for my bio and arts classes...

Oh, please, don' ask me to see a counselor, they just know less than I do but I know that some of you guys know a lot.

Thanks for replying but community college can transfer a certain amount of P/NP units, 12 I believe, the problem for me is due to those units that I am getting with those internships…

I see, well in that case, you should be able to transfer them as long as the credits are transferrable to wherever you plan to go. Meaning, as long as the university has similar courses to give you the credit hours. Don’t think it being at the cc or through the internship matters, in your case.

That’s why I said some (ex. USC). I don’t really know about the UC’s but if you check the articulation plan for the UC’s you’re hoping to attend. The prereqs that must be taken cannot be in P/NP.

You’re right for USC, I also heard that they don’t like so much P/NP. I’m broke anyway^^

I’m sure that UC’s do not care if we take up to 12 units P/NP for non-prereqs but the problem is that I am going to have a lot of units P/NP with my internships. I might be able to not transfer those internship units ?
