p.s. love the yellow wallpaper short story!

yeah, i totally put wry and what about the one with contentious? was that the answer, because i think i had it down between that and something else. i think it was in the passage where the woman was saying stuff about her husband and blaming him

Narrator didn't like "grass-greener-otherside" comment by her mother because it insinuated envy.

Financial success was an answer to a different question. Wasn't it a choice in the fertilizer question? I put nurturing envirnment for what the author meant by fertilizer.

I put financial success for something, don't remember what.

I really don't think that the author was black, but who knows.

SO basically, for the O'Connor and black woman passage:
Was the author a revolutionary feminist or a black writer??

And when they're talking about grass on the other side...were they talking about ENVY or INDECISION or what?

And also the 1604 essay about the women and adultery...

was the woman committing adultery? and when she was talking about "scant" and "former", so was the husband doing spite, or what?

also, how woudl you describe that woman...unprinicipled or the other choices?

I think she was a revolutionary feminist because while she did talk about black people, it was more of a commentary on social injustices everywhere, and not just pertaining to black people. I really saw no indication that she was black, especially with some comments that her mother made.

Grass on the other side: I really don't remember the answer choices. If someone does perhaps I could remember what I put.

Pretty sure it was about adultery.

I plan to take this test in October.

What study aids did you guys use? Barron's, Princeton Review, etc?

haha...NONE. after taking chem, and knowing i didnt do too well, i decided to take lit. ive been taking ap lit this year so that was help, but i dont know how i did and there are a few threads suggesting certain books. i think ive hed kaplan.

Okay, I looked up the passage about Flannery, and it was written by Alice Walker, who is both black and a feminist! So, what is the right answer, since she is both?!

I really don't remember a feminist vibe from that passage. I thought it was more about race disparity.

Yeah I agree, but a lot of people seem to believe it had to do with feminism as well. What exactly was feminist about the passage? Someone posted the actual passage on this thread (page 2)... like I want examples haha.

Okay, I'm nosing in here, but considering that the text NEVER ONCE mentioned gender disparity - was slightly bitter, in fact, about the success of a woman (Flannery O'Connor) as opposed to, let's say, a black male writer - I'd be shocked if the passage was supposed to say she's a feminist. The fact that she's a feminist doesn't mean that the PASSAGE says she is one, and it's about what's in the passage.

See, I like you, dis-grace. I don't know who you are, but I feel like we see eye to eye haha. I said the same thing to myself when I read the passage.

For the first story (Annie John and her summing up her parents and life), was she feeling "resentful"? It sounds like a dumb question, but I just want to make sure.

What were the other choices for that question? I don't remmeber if I put resentful

yea neither do i. but now that i tihnk about it for the grass O'Cononr article i think i put resignation for the grass is greener quote...anybody else?

was it just me or did the test get easier towards the end? i thought it was supposed to go the other way around...

One of the other choices was 'indifferent'...

i put resignation for the grass is greener question and i put resentful for the way the girl felt towards her parents. and i DEFINITELY thought the passages were much easier towards the end
