May '07-- Math Level 1

Well, I skipped the question with the 3500 feet, and I vaguely remember the question with the functions.

Do you remember any other questions?

ya there was a 4x4 square abcd with mid points e and f on the sides of them, pretty much a hoirzontal line throght th emiddle of the square, makin two rectangles. it said what was the peremiter of a rectange to the perimeter of the square it was 12/16 or 75% and a joe schmo answer was 50% cuz it appeared to be half of the square but it asked for perimter not area

i answed all the questions in hopes for a 800, so far i think ive missed off and thats the question number 4 in my list, if someone wants to help me find the right answer then that would be great

i figured that if worst case scenario i missed 7 then my score would be 50-7= 43-(.25*7)= 41.25, i think thats a 710 still, correct me if im wrong,

ps. is there absolutely no curve on math 1?

What kind of curve is normal with Math I? I heard from a lot of people that the curve sucks because its such as easy SAT II. What do you think the curve will be for todays test?

i say it will be nothing, cuz in general the test was cake, maybe 50/49, just one question

Even though the curve is not good, I remember taking a practice test and getting a 650, and I am really bad at math so I was amazed. Most people I talk to say they do much better on this test than they do on the SAT I math, so how bad could the curve be anyway?

ya i mean its a pretty test, all my practice tests i got low to high 700s so hopefully im expecting the same,

i scored my high 700s on mcgrawhill, med 700s on princeton review, and low 700s on barrons.

can anyone else answer my test questions or new ones?

bbbbbump :))

Does anyone know the answer to the 2nd to last question with the n^2 something and 100 to 300 something. If so, please reply.

I put 40,000, but as omar would say, I feel like that might have been the "joe schmo" answer

I think I put 40,000 but then I changed it to 20,000. I don't remember why, but, like you said, 40,000 did seem like a "Joe Bloggs" answer like Princeton review says. What was up with the last choice like 89,401 or something, I had no idea.

haha thanks woohaa, its a Princeton review term.

thisisanalias-- please elbatorate on the question.. i thought the last two were very easy so ill be able to help u out if u giuve me alittl emore info bout it, thanks

i put 20,000 if i remember correctly and i was 99% sure of my answer...unless i made some silly computational error

i think i put 20000 too if that was the largest answer possible. any more?

bump, any other questions u guys rememebr? these are the ones that are still open

there was another one that said if f(x) = 2x+2 then what does f(x+2) =, i think i put 2x?

another one was making a bridge from sea level to 3500 ft. and it can only rise 3 ft every 100 feet (3%). i figure than every 3% u need 103 feet of bridge, so then u do 3500/3 * 103 = 20166.6666 or 20167

there was one that was a circle with radius of 10 and asmaller circle with radius of 4, there was a line GH then was tangent to both cirlces and it asked for the length of it. I figured a joe schmo answer would be 14, but i saw taht the radi overlapped a bit so i put 13.6 (asnwer B) , i think the answer may have been in the 12.05s (answer A)

bumpety bump bump

I drew a noob diagram of what I can recall of the two tangent circles problem here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/brendan_hsu/mathIcproblem.jpg

You get 12.6 as an answer, but I don't remember if I put that or did it right. I remember doing something stupid like (14)^2-(4)^2=x^2 and got 13.4 for x. That means I got 2 or more wrong on the SATII Level Ic, I'm very depressed because I already know I bombed the US history and messed up on the chem that day.

well ur 13.4 does work with that stupid thing u did, maybe we have a chance, cuz thats what i put with guessing. 12.6 seemed too short for the diagram, but 14 was a wee bit long

i got 12.6 - same thing as thisisanalias and as far as i remember, his diagram is accurate and so are the measurements

bah, o well i think thats the only one i misssd so far, ru4real can u verify the asnwres for the other questions i had up tehre
