May 19th Sat question of day.

Hi Guys,
The May 19th Sat question of day ,is about functions and looks very complicated to me.Any tips about how to go around this one?It is up on the website. Thanks!

First I would eliminate all the choices for where f(4) doesn’t equal 4. This shouldn’t take much time at all and leaves you with just B,D,E for answers. To meet the requirement of f(2n)=2f(n) you have to put 2n in for n wherever n is in the equation and see if it equals 2 times the entire function.

i.e. for choice E

f(2n) = 4n-4
2(f(n)) = 4n-8

Obviously these are not equal to each other and you’ll find the same thing for choice D which leaves B as the correct answer.
