May 1st deadline approaching...

Hi all!

SO I have decided on a school, and I have already told them that I accept their decision to be a part of their class of 2021. But, I haven’t been able to pay the enrollment deposit. I emailed the fin aid people who said they can’t waive it for me, but halved the deposit. However, they also said the online pay system needs a little time for it to say the smaller amount for me bc as of rn it still says I have to pay the original amount.
They said they can get it fixed by Monday… so I was just making sure that if I submit my deposit on Monday, May 1st, it won’t be considered late, right?
you have to pay online so shouldn’t it be processed pretty quickly?

I would love to pay right now, but there are so many financial problems that I can really only pay the reduced amount… any advice?

Don’t worry about it. If the school says it is ok, than it is ok. Just follow through on Monday and be back in touch with the admissions/FA folks if you have any problem with making the payment online.

I assume you can swing the reduced amount by Monday?

@doschicos Thank you! The financial aid people said it’s fine for me to pay on Monday, which I will be able to do so. However, I have not talked to the admissions people… and I’m hoping there’s no problem for me to talk to them since I can hopefully pay by early Monday.

I was just wondering that the May 1st deadline does mean you can pay/respond by 11:59 PM on May 1st, right?

Yes, the deadline is 5/1. I wouldn’t wait until the buzzer, though. In the event that there is some glitch, you want to be able to reach someone at the offices to discuss it. Take care of it before noon on Monday.

I’d ask them if you can deposit the halved amount even though the website is asking for the original amount. Just to be safe.

@AimingTop50 So they said I only have to pay half the deposit, but the online website won’t let me type in the new amount… it defaults to the original amount and can’t be changed. That is what they’re trying to fix, and can fix by monday.

Oh… It is a set amount.
Whatever, I wouldn’t worry about it at all. They know you are trying to pay it; if they don’t fix it on time it will be on them. I’m sure they would still enroll you even in the worst case scenario.

Just be sure to allow time on Monday before 5:00 pm THEIR time in case you need to make a phone call,
