So what did people think about the test yesterday, difficulty-wise? Does anyone have any theories about what the curve for each section might be like?

Math: I would say harder than average and much harder than the March one.

Cr: Medium same as March maybe a little easier

Writing: Medium seemed like the same as March

^really? I thought math was one of the easiest I’ve seen.

^ People have different opinions.

I have to agree with jr5570

I thought the worst part of the test was the essay portion. The “Is talking the best form of communication” question was just awful.

jr5570…that wasn’t my essay question…

Yamster, I think that different time zones get different questions to discourage cheating.

yeah my essay question (east coast) was about small decisions and major consequences…really easy… writing overall seemed pretty simple, and math fairly easy compared to others, as in hardly any geometry questions and the CR kinda medium-hard (never really study for that part and seems very boring) but overall…good test i think…can’t wait until MAy 20th!!

^Scores come out May 20th?

anyone know which section was the experimental one? (I got an extra writing on mine)

Yea I had that essay prompt with the decisions, very easy. The SAT was easier then I thought, if I do good the first time then I won’t take it again. The math was medium to hard for me since I’m not good at math.

AGH! I had that and I definitely bombed my essay. I could not think of any examples for that. I seriously felt like banging my head on the desk when I saw that, lol.

I think I did okay (for my standards… which are far below CC standards, lol). I’m definitely going to study more for the ACT than I did for this.

The hardest part for me was the reading passage about the stringent theory. This was my first section after the essay so I thought, “Oh boy, this doesn’t seem good.”

Did anyone else find that section difficult?

oh god the string theory came right after my essay too, it was literally the most boring passage i’ve ever read. the frida kahlo passage, on the other hand, was mildly interesting.

I know. I couldn’t even focus on it, and the questions were hard. Well, it is the SAT after all.

I loved the Kahlo one.

oh god, I just loved the string theory passage. Well I am kinda into quantum physics… at least I didn’t get something about african american struggle, lame…

does anyone here remember the topics for the critical readings. I can’t remember which one, but I know there was one that was pretty challenging… i hope that one was part of the experimental section.
btw, i’m from the east coast…

uhhh yeah the string theory was so hard!! i pretty much failed that section… oh great.

This was the first time I’ve taken the SAT (I’ve taken the PSAT twice). I thought the essay question (about choices/decisions) was easy/simple compared to some of the ones I’ve seen/heard of. I thought the math section was pretty easy-- it didn’t seem to have a lot of Algebra II concepts (a least compared to a lot of practice tests I’ve taken, but what do I know, haha). I liked the passage about the the Diamond Theft w/ Robinson Crusoe (I think it was…)
