May 2007 - Chemistry

I found the test very easy - it was easier than any test I have ever taken. Hope the curve won't be too bad.

Wow sounds good.
was it easier than the blue book (sat ii) one?

Oops I didn't see the part 'easier than any test I have ever taken'
assuming it was easier than blue book

It was slightly easier.

I found it relatively easy compared to all barrons, PR, kaplan and official SAT Chem tests.

Time constraint was a killer though...i finished the tests with 20 seconds to spare!!! & normally i finish practice tests in 40 mins!

idk if I am allowed to ask you guys if there were any problems concerning 'color', because I don't know anything about it... I am not expecting any answers if I am not suppose to ask that question.

Least amount, Least hazardous to humans.
What is it?
CO2?
No2?
SO2?

can you remember some of the questions you had in chemistry test? especially the ones that seemed harder?

I said that it was NO2, but I could be wrong, lmao.
Another hard question was.. hmm... Oh yeah, what is a "critical point"? We never learned that for some reason.

If you got more than 3 wrong then don't expect an 800.

O_O?! what!!? I thought the curve was good on Chem

I left about 5 blank...ehhh. I really don't know what to feel about that test. It was a little easier than the practice tests, but then again, I hadn't been doing so hot on practice tests...

oh yeah, and what was the partial pressure of... (I forgot what gas it was, but the total was 1.5) ?? 1.0? I think I got that one wrong.

i find it funny how some ppl in the united states/world still havent taken the test and how some might be looking at this discussion thread RIGHT NOW

The partial pressure one could've been solved with a ratio? (moles of substance/total moles) = (partial pressure/total pressure)

but i don't actually remember the numbers...

haha, that's waht I did, but then i got lazy to do the math. was it 1.0??

these are the questions i remember...i might have some of the answers wrong

the part with the phase change chart

what is the triple point.....the one where all three intersect
what is the critical point....the last point (the one all the way in the top right)
what is the regular boiling point....when the line for 1 ATM hits the first line (i think that was B)

which of the following has the smallest radius....

(a) F-
(b) O 2-
(c) N 3-
(d) NA +
(e) MG +2

which of the following is the least harmful in the atmosphere to humans...

(a) CO2
(b) NO2
(c) NH4
(d) SO4

i will send more in a few mins

Why does water and NH3 have lower freezing points then their mass should dictate? (something like that)

~They have Hydrogen Bonding

Which has a triple bond?

Which is a non polar molecule?

Which has a bond angle of 180 degrees?

In a closed vessle, 3 moles of ...Gas A.... and 2 moles of "Gas B", total pressure = 1.5 . whats the partial pressure of Gas A?

(Hydrogen energy level diagram,
http://www.astro.washington.edu/labs...ge005_0001.gif)

(a) between 1&2
(b) between 1&3
(c) between 1& 4 or 5
(d) maybe betwee 2 and 5?
(e) between 3 and 5

which represents hydrogen in its excited state?

which jump requires the least amount of energy?

which represents hydrogen's ionization energy?

T/F/CE
Water is polar - Water is linear.

there was something with a 180 degree bond angle too.
And a 'square planar' thing, with a methane (CH4) molecule.

For the closed vessel one, what did you get??
