May 2008 MATH II

for the first question of some-dude, i don't know for sure. but for the second question, i put 4 years... don't remeber the question, though.

@some-dude - I think you're right.
@ moviemania - i put 10 for that I think, because it was right under 0.01 I think.

I remember that one too...wasn't the answer 10? the fraction turns out be be like .00983 or something, which was the closet to .01...i think

For the last one, b/c they tell you f(x/2) as a function of f(x) and then they tell you f(a), you just plug in f(a) to first get f(a/2) then plug that in to get f(a/4). I got like .932 or something like that.
I don't remember the 18/19 one!! Now I'm freaking out!
The 8box/4box was 1box (that's what I got).
I believe I got like 3.something for the population one, rounded up to 4.
For the one with what's closer to 0.01, I got 10.

GOD that was unnecessarily long.

The one with the 5,7,8 triangle was 78 degrees yeah?

And what was the answer to the one where it was like if sin2x = A...what does 2sinx, or something, equal...

i chose the one that was slightly under, i think it was 10

yes it was easy but damn it! i didn't have enough time to do the last 2 or 3 questions! I thought piecewise, complete the square, parametric, arithmatic/geometric sequence were going to be on but there were none!!! what the hell?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

gahhhhhhhh. its so frustrating because i could of anwserd the 4 problems i ommited if it wernt for the time. god damn it!

Yeah. And a*secx

I think it was 78 degrees by law of cosines.

anyone get the one with all the table and it asked y as a function of x (or x as a function of y?)

I got only II and III because table I had an X value repeated twice (well it all depends i guess on whether y was a function of x or the other way around...)

anyone remember??

Yes i got 78 degrees as well

that last question with the a/4... wth?!?! when u solve for f(x/2) by plugging in f(a/2)=0, ur answer is negative, and the domain given was positive.
and when i did just f(a), my answer was negative too!

I wasnt sure about that one either. However, table 2 and 3 had the same y value for mutilple answers of X, which isnt a function.

I put Table I only, but i could very well be wrong.

lol, it all depends on the question i guess, does anyone remember exactly what the question asked??

How about the one where it said you can score either 3 or 8 points on a question, which one of these is true. I put III only, that the answer can be even or odd....the first two I dont think were true. Anyone remember?

For the table problem, aint the thing a function when Y DOES NOT repeat?
so im pretty sure i put I for that one...

dude , crossing fingers for 800 here
everything else was easy, Baron rocks my world hahaha
Baron Davis tooo.... lol jk

I think for the 3 or 8 points question:
I: you can get a score of 12 (or some number)
II: score has to be a multiple of 3 or 8
III: even or odd

i either put I and III or just III...yeah

I put II and III for the table one too! Because if y is a function of x, then y=f(x) which means you can just do the vertical line test or whatever.
For the last one with the f(a/4) wasn't the question f(x/2)=sqrt(1+f(x)/2)? And if f(a)=0, then f(a/2)=sqrt(1+0/2)=0.707, then repeat=0.923?

azn4eye00, I put II and III also. because it is against the vertical test and it gets two y values at at same X value.

for the table problem, isn't it II and III because III was just a horiz line, which is a function, and 1 didn't pass the vertical line test. unless I read it wrong.

It was you can get score of 13, which isnt true. And then yeah, it doesnt have to be a multiple of 3 or 8...so the answer i think was just III
