May 2010 Math SAT Thread

@mabsjenbu: I found E on that one. the number had to be a multiple of 6 to be an integer

no bro, another restrait said it had to be a multiple of 10 but not equal to 0, hence there cant be the digit 0 in the number.

I missed the median one as well. cannot believe it

what would -3 yields
51 raw score ?

multiple of 6?
I must have rushed it. :(

So what is -1 going to be?

^ 770 probably.

This was in most peoplese opinion medium/hard math when compared to march or jan

I would say

800 54
780-790 53
750-760 52
730-740 51
710-720 50.

Could someone explain the question with x, y, and z in boxes? Was the answer the one with 2’s and 3’s?

does 1 wrong mean 53 or 52 raw score ?

what is -1 and 1 ommit going to be??? any guess??

ahh crap, MEDIAN!!!

f this. im taking the ACT…■■■…■■■

This one can not be worse than March curve. LOL!

@jedibran

the one with the xyz in boxes, I got the one with 2’s and 3’s. I think it was choice C? but I’d feel more confident if someone else confirmed this.

It was the one that was something like:

|2|2|3| and |2|3|2|

@Linger

Could you explain how the question worked? I had no idea and just guessed. What did the boxes mean?

|a|b|c|=a(b+c)

53 in January test was 770.

@owen

I think it was plus. But I am not familiar with the notation.

@jedibran

SAT people like to make up new notation by defining it first. Its not something you would ever see in regular math.

Linger, agreed. the correct answer would be the one that would have the B and C and the other one said C and B. and A would HAVE to be the same in both situations.
