first time (8th grade)

CR - 750

total = 2210

second time (March '10)

CR - 720
M - 770
W - 740 (essay = 9)

total = 2230

this time (May '10)

CR - 680 <—***???
M - 780 <— (i swear i got none wrong)
W - 790 (MC = 76 ; essay = 11) <— (the only thing saving me from hopelessness…)

total = 2250

superscore = 750+780+790 = 2320 (dream score)

i’m taking it again :(

^ … huh? I’m confused.

what’s confusing?

You got your dream score but you are retaking?

I got a 2090. Not that great compared to this forum’s standards or my own, but it was my first time taking the test so I’m not too bummed.

CR 710
Math 730
Writing 650

I didn’t have much time to prepare due to extracurriculars and whatnot, but how much preparation does it take to get 2200+. That is what I am aiming for and I want to how much preparation I would have to put in. Before the last test, I completed about 5 or 6 SATs worth of questions and I thought it was adequate. I have the feeling that that isn’t a lot, but now that I have the whole summer ahead of me I was wondering what it takes?

Question: Is everyone on CC who complains about getting a 2200 attempting to go to an Ivy league school or are you just overachievers? It just seems ridiculous that some of you are disappointed with your exceptional scores.

Most of the people in this forum, I suspect, are aiming for top schools. They are sometimes disappointed with scores around 2200 because they are under the impression that having a score higher than that will result in a higher admissions chance; they are correct.

^ seconded.

I thought the math curve was quite lenient but what is the cure like for reading.

I wish I get my delayed score asap

First time:
690 M
690 W
590 R
Total: 1970

Second time:
710 M
580 W
560 R
Total: 1850

My superscore is 1990 (10 short of my 2k goal :frowning: )

Oh well, i guess ill stick to my ACT score (33 SuperScore)

CR 650, M 690, W 720 (MC 70, essay 10). I’m happy! I really can’t believe I got a 10 on the essay… I thought I butchered it. Aiming for 2100+ the second time around.

Where is everyone finding their scores for their essays? I got a 740 on writing, but I don’t know what my essay score was.

The essay score should be right below it.

I found it on a separate link. Thanks, though.

What was the CR curve?

I see it went from 790 to 750?

CR: 710
M: 800
W: 740 (70/11)
I hit my 2250 goal spot on :slight_smile:
although i still do believe that section 10 was what killed my grammar score…
Either way, all up from March which devastated me :P

Done with SAT I’s… finally!

i have a question. i got a 2220 overall and i feel that i probably won’t be taking it again, but my critical reading score was a 650. considering the average person who gets a 2220, my CR score is like crap. so im wondering if it’ll really hurt me a lot or if that can be overlooked if i get a good score on like a literature SAT II test or something… or will the high math and writing be able to make up for the poopy CR reading? im aware that some schools don’t even look at writing which makes me even more sad ):

Is it an anomaly on CC to have almost no 2400’s posted?

dtothelu, in post #126, seemed to claim to have scored 2400.

The lack of 2400s for this May test is a bit unusual.
