May 2012 SAT II - Literature - College Confidential

Fruits = Children.

I said the season was winter but I’m not positive about that.

Hanibb, I put winter. There was some reference to cold and snow…

Oh! And that question about the broken coffins? Do you remember that?

Ah great! Her children gave her hope or got her away from loneliness?

Were there religious themes in the “Man” poem? None of my answers related to the “creative design” stuff.

I said winter because of her references to the zodiac - Capricorn is winter. She compared him to the sun/summer, and how it’s cold without him.

like resistance or tenacity of spirit or soul.

Did anyone choose more permenant one on the speaker view of a specific line? I didnt choose any answer with “creative design”

Hanibb, yes, her children gave her a respite from loneliness. :)

Hippo, that was another “not” question, right?

Yeah, it was a “not” question. I can’t remember the answer choices/what I put though.

Haha great  yes I recall “coffin” question I choose “self-reproaching”

Yes! Confirming I answered the same as Hanibb. :)

But self-reproach means blaming one’s self. Is that what the souls were doing?

I think I said self-reproach too! Ah! Cool.

Everything but self-reproach, Eira - it was a “not” question.

shoot! I changed my answer from that.

I don’t think so…

The lost souls were those of dead soldiers sent to fight in a war that wasn’t theirs…

Unlike the speaker, they had more than their innocence stolen.

(God, I am pretentious. Sorry that sounds so weird. I’m trying to study for finals, right now.)

Did any one put “age and youth”?

Is there any chance the Hamlet play was “flippant?” I mean, the Player wasn’t exactly respectful of the whole “death” thing…

I thought the “he just stood there crying” thing was a little irreverent…

(I know I got this wrong, I’m just arguing with myself. Carry on.)

Yeah, age and youth!

PPurple, what are you talking about?

I had age and youth originally, but I do not know if I changed it. I know I changed something around there.

I think hot and cold was on the table too? I never heard specific references to one of those temps?
