May 2013 US history (question pool)

Use this as the official thread

something about WWI and what was involved EXCEPT:

Zimmermann telegram and unrestricted submarine warfare - definitely involved in WWI and not the answer to this question

trying to remember the other answer choices… anyone?

Above: I think the answer was Germany rejected Wilson’s 14 points (since this was actually after the war, not what got us involved)

What did you guys put for the New Negro question with Claude McKay, etc?

20Summer08, could it have been Wilson’s neutrality for that question? Because we were obviously no longer neutral when the US got involved

I was kind of torn between these two, but chose 14 points instead
Any other opinions anyone??

What did Bush o immediately after 9/11?

Attack Iraq or Afghanistan?

What was he problem with the NY colony? Indians or parliament?

afghanistan, 14 points, new negro- addressing africans who wanted to assimilate entirely, wilson as 1912 progressive confirmed.
i put new harmony as the transcendentalist community and forgot what the first amendment was ugh. and tonton, i put indians/french just because i knew they were there and i was thinking of the french/indian war.

btw, the indians consistently sided with the french, right? please say yes omg

I put Iraq… did NOT expect a Bush question

What was the one with Langston Hughes and Zora Hurston?
Did they want assimilation into white society? (i believe this was answer choice E)

What did everyone say for that?

i put E for that^^. anyone else put the selling of panama canal for the reagan question?

I got that one wrong @ Licursim
I put choice A which was equal rights and now I feel ridiculously stupid

Oh good question! Did Indians consistently side with the French or side with their own interests?

Yup, I put Panama Canal

ohh for that i said they sided with whichever side suited their interests better

right/wrong?

Yes, I put that, but I’m not sure.

i put consistently with the french because it said ‘during french and british confrontations’, not all the time. the english always wanted to push the indians off their land while the french traded fur with them and i thought it would make more sense. i.e.: french and indian war (and while we’re at it there was a question referencing that too lol)

What did you guys put for the eerie canal question?

There was one that was either:
A. propriety colonies
or
C. self-governing colonies

licursim, I don’t remember that at all
