What did you think? Which sections seemed easier/harder than usual?

All the curves will be average. No section really stuck out to me. If any, writing would have a small curve (favorably).

Actually, now that I think about it… The math curve might be harsh.

See I thought the vocabulary in the Critical Reading was easier than usual… and the passages were easier to grasp. On the contrary, I thought the math was harder than usual!! I found this ironic since I scored almost 200 points higher on my math section in March than on my CR section. I thought writing was the same as usual.

Is it possible to get 6-8 wrong in CR and still get above a 700?

Did anyone else think that the vocab on CR was hard? What about writing, harder or easier that usual?

guys it doesn’t matter what we think. people who actually take the time to make a CC account obviously care very much about their grades, test scores, and college. what really matters is that a majority of the kids who took this test are not as concerned or smart as us, so the curve will be GOOD. look at past sat curves, the best ones are always in may. and @2015snl 6-8 wrong on CR is EXACTLY what I’m predicting for myself. that’s anywhere from a 690 - 740, and with the good may curve i’m confident it’ll be at least a 700 too (4 vocab questions wrong ■■■)

I thought the vocab got harder quicker (if that makes any sense) but the words themselves were pretty average. The math I thought was pretty easy, and the writing was average. The CR questions were pretty average as well, some were obviously harder than others.

Vocab was a lot easier for me than the March one. Math was a little harder but I already got an 800 in it in March. Writing was average.

This was my first official SAT, but in comparison with the variety of practice tests and old actual SATs I took, I thought the math on this test was pretty hard. In particular, the w/z question with the systems, and the ax + b(x+c) = 17x + 52 question were pretty hard, and that’s coming from #1 in my class. Beyond the fact that I got them wrong, based on all the discussion I’ve heard about them, they were pretty hard, so I’m praying for a good curve so you can still get an 800 with one wrong.

How much do you think 3 incorrect on writing w/10 on essay would be? What about with a 9?
How about 3 incorrect on CR? (or 4)?

@awesomekid - In my opinion, and based on what I read, the writing section this time around was pretty average and probably won’t have a big curve. 46 MC + 10 essay is probably going to be a 750, give or take 10 points. 46 MC + 9 essay is 700-750 range, for sure. 3-4 wrong on CR can honestly be anywhere from as low as a 750 to as high as an 800. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a 790 or 800, but I’ve seen tests where 4 wrong is a 750 or 760.

@DarachHD
What do you think a 12 essay with 3 wrong will be? What about 12 essay with 4 wrong?

I thought the math was easy except for four questions: the intersecting parabolas, the w/z, the circumference of the circles, and the last fill in the blank question. What would I get on the math if I only got two wrong, one of which was a fill in the blank? Is 690-740 really accurate for 6-8 wrong on the CR? That would be great. Which sections do you think were the experimentals?

For those who had a non-math experimental section, was one of your math questions about a square pyramid and and you had to determine the ratio if the volume was decreased by 25%

I’m pretty sure that I got two multiple choice wrong, two grid ins wrongs, and I skipped one. With a raw score of 49 on math do you think that it’s possible that I broke a 700?

itsajerseything - in the past that has usually been a 700/710

In reviewing the google document, there seems to be a lot of mixed answers for the math section,
so that seems to be the hardest. Also, if the international test is the same as the US, and say there were some smarter math kids abroad, are their scores added into the US score to decide the curve?

Maybe, someone could devise a chart of 1x… down and that would help answer score questions.

Ok’s, here the math scoring chart ( SAT released test curves )

http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

Anyone notice an interesting trend in these numbers?
Harder and harder to get high scores. Explains a lot why the ACT is making more $$$.

Does anyone with an elite CR score agree with me that the difficulty of CR was above average?.. I scored 750 in March, so if the video game passage section was time-pressured and challenging for me, I’d think it would be challenging for others. Yet the pulse of the students on CC suggests the opposite.

I thought the CR for this test was a loooot easier than in March

@coryspruill

I thought it was easier than March… but then again I didn’t understand one thing I read in March! I thought March was really difficult. However, a lot of my friends thought it was harder. We will have to see when the scores get out.

But I’m hoping the curve is nice cause I really want a 700+ score (despite the fact I probably got 7-8 wrong)
