May 7th SAT ... Results?

Yes your daughter IS IN FACT better than the rest of us because she did the CTY program. Is your daughter an all-state soccer player? How about an award winning artist? How about a state wrestling champion? I hate the arrogance of parents (and kids for that matter) who think they are on another level because they score high on a test.

@statlanta
Are you being serious or not? How are these parents being arrogant at all?

I feel so freaking bad for that daughter… Enough said…

I don’t think I am saying that. I just don’t understand why people were piling on this mother about her daughter taking SAT in 7th grade, when she could have a very legitimate reason for doing so. She just came on here to ask a simple question of when May result was coming out. Why all the hate?

How many stupid chance threads students have made up (I’ll chance you, if you chance me. If you could chance someone, then chance yourself.). I say made up because a lot of people pad their stats to make themselves feel better. So it is not the parents who come on this board to brag about their kids, just look in the mirror.

Just for the record, my kid was qualified to do CTY when she was in 7th grade, but she didn’t want to hang out with nerds (her words). But I knew another kid who totally enjoyed every summer at CTY. He wanted to go, not because his parents made him. There was nothing to feel sorry about for this kid.

Oh, and if you hadn’t realized from my post, I was one of those CTY kids and it was something during the summer that I would always look forwards to. Kudos to those parents that encourage and support their kids in such endeavors.
@satlanta
So what if CatnPhx is happy and wants to let other people know if her daughter did well on a test…and whats to say that being academically gifted or doing well on a test isn’t as good as playing a sport well or doing well on an all-state music audition.

OMG MY 8th grade brother took the SAT too! He’s gonna get like a 2300 cuz he’s so smart…wait thats higher than my score…Really though, if he get’s above 1800 I’ll be surprised. I remember he was doing some practice for the reading section and he got 10 wrong…in one section. My mom made him take it but seriously what’s the big deal? I mean, it actually does help kids because there’s no way any kid would actually sit down and take a practice test for 4 hours at home. He was going to do a program like CTY but he’s not anymore. Since he was still signed up my mom decided just keep it which is the reason why he’s taking it.

But onto the arguement with CatnPhx…i agree that the second part of your post was unnecessary, and in my head i was like “oh cool but nobody asked.” But seriously though…is it really such a big deal? I know it’s a 4 hour test, but if you have no pressure on you, it’s not bad at all. I didn’t take the SAT in middle school but in March there were a bunch of little kids in my test room. I knew most of them (sadly), and they seemed fine with it. Afterwards they joked about how many questions they got wrong/skipped as if it was something to brag about.

Gee, when I grow up I want to live vicariously through my children. Hey honey, did you get that 2400 that I didn’t get when I was your age, or better yet 4 years before I had to take it? Yes, admittedly I took the SAT in 5th grade, but my parents didn’t boast about it. I honestly, personally had no idea where I was and why kids were nearly twice as old as I was and twice as big.

Calm down guys…
It’s not that uncommon.
My school forces every 7th grader to take it.

On the otherhand,
she COULD’ve been more resourceful to just look up the date online.

Not really. We just want to make sure our kids have a college to go to, get a job, so we could stop supporting them.

It only goes to show she is not that much of a helicopter parent, or she would have known about College Board.

on topic now
will the sat result be available like 12:01am in the morning on May 26th?

no it’s usually like 3am-5am

There goes my plan to stay up till 12
