May SAT 2011: CR Section

Can anyone definitely say that the cave paintings was NOT experimental? Given its difficulty it seems it would be.

I’m waiting for an answer as to whether this section was experimental (i know i had one experimental reading section)-- I think that the passage was about animal play, and there was a vocab question including gandhi (something about hedonism and ascetism were in the actual sentence?). But i also had the cave painting passage, the whale passage, and the concert passage…

Cave was obv not experimental no one would be disputing it this much if it was.
I had it and I had the WR experimental

I don’t remember anything about hedonism/ascetic/Gandhi and I had Writing Experimental.

I had the same passages as you gotham11. If cave was not experimental then which was?

Somebody post a consolidated list already…cmon

@gotham11 i don’t know how the whole experimental thing works (i had no idea there even were experimental sections), but if gandhi and the animal play one had to be together in order for the animal play part to be experimental, then it wasn’t because i had the animal play passage but nothing about gandhi.

@abcdef14
i believe the “a familiarly illustrated art(work?)” was from the cave paintings passage
it had something to do with what the author of passage 2 thought of something in line 14 which i think was the paintings…??
k
brain
fart

for vocab
what was the sentence for meditation??
and i still don’t remember what the business one is…

Not a usual consolidated list, but a consolidated list of which are confirmed NOT to be experimental. So far, apparently whales and cave paintings were not experimental.

either way post one…

@JBCHUN that sounds right. Not positive though because I don’t remember answers/question.

Thanks for the response- i just remembered that there was also something about a girl’s mother’s tattoos as a short reading passage that was with the animal play longer passage section. anyone else have this as an experimental??

NOT EXPERIMENTAL:
-African American Concert
-Cave Paintings
-Whales
-Humans staying up later at night
-Role Playing Video Games
-Jazz
I think there were a couple of more short passages but they aren’t coming to me.

not sure about a passage about tattoos but i vaguely remember something about animal play

…or

abcdef14 I think you just included in your enumeration all 4 CR sections I had. so something has gotten mixed up.

actually, i think the animal play passage was part of writing, maybe? you had to reword sentences and add stuff iirc…

Animal play was definitely part of writing; I remember it now.

what do you choose for tone in the black girl paasage. i remember i chose color.
and there is outspoken in vocab

I think I have everything so far…A lot with question marks though since only one person has mentioned them
