May SAT 2011: CR Section

AZN… I think you’re wrong about the smokes and sparks one, I don’t exactly remember the answer but I remember eliminating science seems magical

The aesthetic power one was between C and E for me, I changed it to E at the last minute which was something like, it showed the changes between ancient and modern art.

not sure about the jazz question

the science one was almost definitely the effort one.

don’t remember the diversity one.

okay, do you remember the question for the jazz one? because i might be totally off but i thought it was saying that going to conservatory should precede other learning, so i didn’t put it. i didn’t like that question, i couldn’t find an answer that was clearly the best match. :/

For black concert: migration question, didn’t they ask for the METAPHORICAL meaning of the phrase “coming home”, not the figurative one?

And does anyone remember what the other choices for the “mawkishness” vocabulary question was?

i honestly dont remember the question about the accessibility… anyone care to up me on that? and can we please put to rest the early attempts by accomplished artists?? its driving me nuts. the cave passage is my most worrisome one…

To describe the behavior of animals was a choice; someone refresh my memory…

Impassionistic was the black concert…

@Waterworks - i just remember mawkishness, munificence, and serendipity.

hey… just wondering… what are the chances that any of us actually get in trouble for discussing all this?

Yeah, I remember narrowing it down to mawkishness and something else, but I can’t recall what I put down in the end.

There are a lot of iffies but theres approx. 56 here we need like 10 more or so…

@jd - everyone already took the test, didn’t they?

nobodying is replying me on may sat 2011 thread! hmm

@waterworks: the answer is mawkishness,i m pretty sure. the other choices i rmb are opulence, munificence and serendipity.

can anyone confirm if vocalization was experimental or not?

yeah they did waterworks, but our proctor was like “dont discuss these answers online ever”

ugh vocalization was probably experimental, it seems like no one else got it except for me and a few others…

it was also the easiest ****ing passage on the test :/

@dizzying experimental for sure. dont remember any answer like that.
@jd lol they tell us that every time we take it… and look at all the previous threads for other exams. theres about a couple thousands high schoolers doing this on random sites.

Since 7 of the 11 questions we need are easy SC we just need 4 passage base readings…surely someone can pull 4 questions out of his/her head…Right??

@sauternety: for the first jazz one, I think the word was “demanding”, not “strenuous”, if I remember correctly
I know, it’s the same general meaning, just to make it more correct

how was the jazz one demanding or strenuous!?

I remember choosing something more along the lines of “it is very unique to ones identity” it seemed to fit the passage more, if it was strenuous it would have said like long hours of practicing…

Honestly I dont really care if you guys concur with that, but I am confident in my answer

Let’s get going on those four Q’s and A’s…

i don’t remember anything about uniqueness or identity as an answer to the first question; the only thing close to that was that jazz was hard to classify or something.
