Gambit I guarantee it was 1/2. The tone was informative. Enough said!

It should be "informative" because "argumentative" is too strong. Merriam-Webster defines "argumentative" as "disputatious." The tone is milder, and is actually somewhat objective. The author is providing information on the various causes of yawning and brings up a different measure of sleepiness at the end. Ask yourself if the passage could appear in a newspaper, magazine, journal, or encyclopedia entry. If it can, then it is probably "informative." An "argumentative" passage would have injected more of the author's opinions into it, but the passage is merely reporting on the information he has gathered from various sources and not introducing a new argument or thesis.

what was the answer to the question that was like:

all of the following ways of yawning are described except:

^^^student yawning at a boring subject

I thought the passage specified someone yawning at a boring subject.

it was the woman flying the plane and her ears popped or something like that. they mention in the passage about how boredom can cause people to yawn so the student yawning is not the answer

You sure Ethan? I disagree. It mentioned being bored and yawning. It never mentioned yawning in order to clear your ears from what i remember (and I get extra time so I read it pretty damn carefully).

just wondering...how many times are u guys planning on taking them SATs?...i'm thinking 3 max for me.

Yeah. It was ears popping.

Dammit. It said ears popping :o You are right. Thats what I get for skimming :P

I thought it was something involving an airplane.

tunit... i am planning on taking it 3 times as well.

I'll probably take it 3 times too cuz thats how many times they'll wave the fee for me =)

I guess it depends on how I do. More than likely, three times.

I only wanna take it once, hopefully if I get around a 2100+ I will only take it once :(

omg i put .5 for the grid in out of pure desperation as i had 15 seconds left. wow that makes me feel a lot better

and for the yawning passage, it the airplane answer the same thing as the pilot yawning and popping her ears b4 takeoff or something?

yes the pilot one is correct

yup i put pilot too

I think you are right. The third one can also be 1, 2, or 4, because the question said variables a and b 'positive integers', not 'different positive integers'. I think I got 760 on Math section. (2 wrong)

what were the other choices besides yawning and popping her ears

hisoka=what question was that?

yeah it was the clearing your ears one.
