May SAT II US History 2012

Polio
Smallpox was actually th first vaccine created

Yes for the cult one!

The different between the ICC and SHerman Antitrust Act was that one was illegal because of the Supreme Court case, right?

What was the industry in the nineteenth century that went from home to factories? Was it textiles?

The vaccine one was funny because when I finally got it I was like oh duh. I didn’t think it was that hard. I prepared with Larry Krieger’s Essential Content and I was good to go. He literally used the same terms and his tips were spot on. He gave the EXACT right info about the natives and pre-colonial America. I read on another college confidential thread that the SAT U.S. focuses a lot on colonial and pre-colonial America, so I guess that helped me as well. I’m so happy. Oh, and I’m in APUSH. I’m using the same book for the AP plus crash course.

Poliomyelitis=Polio

Oh. Wow. o.o

I used AMSCO.

gtowner’s choices are correct.

@RedPassion I put that the ICC was enforced, the the SAA wasn’t really effective…but I wasn’t sure (the SC choice was another choice I was unsure about.

@RedPassion i chose textiles and chose the one that said the ICC was prohibitory and the Sherman Anti Trust was like Stopping or something like that.

@charlieb320 I’m incredibly jealous. I used the REA APUSH crash course, along w/ Kaplan to supplement. I haven’t heard of the Essential Content book, but it sounds great. Wish I had used it.

@annue I think that’s what I put. I used only crash course btw. Have AMSCO but read like 20 pages.

i think @annue15 said it right

what was the answer to the question with the picture of women in the textile factory? I said something like men and women had opportunities in factories, but I think that’s wrong.

just reminding everyone, curve for an 800 is usually like 8-10 wrong

yeah men and women both had opportunities. that’s right.

what did you guys put for the native american questions?

so was the icc/saa answer that icc was enforced and saa wasnt effective? i was going to put that but i remembered that the saa was effective in the later years for breaking up trusts.
so i put icc was regulatory and saa was prohibitory

most likely 8 wrong for 800.

Can you guys remember any other questions?

what about the first european nation to settle in new world and why did columbus travel west

I don’t remember except there was one answer that was Iroquois. I didn’t bother studying pre-colonial because I kept reading that there were only a couple questions on it. Why would I get the test that has a quarter of the questions on pre colonial? I hate my life.

Portugal and to reach asia going west for columbus

the honeymooners question… which decade
some quote about the cold war… identify who said this
some quote about farmers and problems and which decade they were in
