1 question away from 2400 ... ****.

Wow, amazing scores chrisiskey. Congratulations!

I was happy with my math 600, and my CR was about what I expected 730, but my writing was a lot lower than I thought. 640 with an 8 essay, I was sure it would be at least over 700.
The main thing I wanted was just to get over 2000, and I missed it by 30 points. The writing is the main reason I need to retake.

vegangirl- how did you get a 730 CR? DO you read a lot or what? Wish I could have your reading score! how much do you read?

I read constantly when I was younger, even though I don't read quite as much now I still probably read at least an hour a day I would say.

Although, reading does not MEAN high score...but it's more that you know the vocab!

780 math
630 writing
680 cr
essay: 9

total: 2090

pretty crappy cuz i expected at least a 700 on writing...
taking it again

us history - 730

not too happy

I did poorly, by my standards. I'll retake it soon, with the goal of getting 2300+, as this was only my first time and I know I can pull up my math score a lot:
Critical Reading- 800
Writing- 760
Math- 640
2200

It's especially annoying, since I did better on my PSAT (227)

CR-730
MT-780
WR-720 (Essay: 12)

I'm taking World History, US History and Math I for SAT II.
I'm a Malaysian so I'm gonna study the two histories on my own.

If someone was to score horrible on the sat like 1600 then retake it and get like a 2100 will it matter that much to colleges that he/she received the initial score of 1600 when going through apps? thx

racerboi!@-it does not matter at all-the colleges really do take the highest score for each section no matter how many times you take the test. Many students take it 3 times.

ok thanks alot for the reply oregon101

i've heard of situations in which ets may flag your score or something if you achieve such a great jump as that mentioned above.. basically they'll think you cheated the second time and your score won't count at all. i've heard that happens, but i'm not sure if that's true

yeah, i know people who had to retest to prove their score's validity.
they jumped from a 1750 to 2200's

im an indian student
got a 720 in math level 2 ..which colleges can i apply ??

o damn thats messed up how they have to retest. But i mean if they have from march to like october i guess that wouldnt that be enough time to make that improvement? The essays could even be matched up in terms of hand writing. Srry for taking over ur thread.
