May Sat Subject Test Results

Anyone take the Latin test in may? I want to see what I should gauge for june

^
I don’t think Latin is offered in May.

oooh that makes sense, then. ugh. oh well. :/

800- USH
770- Physics. I left 10 blank and I thought I failed, so this was a nice surprise.

It seems like most people who post here posted scores of above 700. Is this a common score, or are people who post on college confidential just smarter?

^^ 700+ is pretty common considering that an 800 in math 2 only places you in the 90th percentile or so.

So…
should I retake a 720 in USH if I am aiming for the Ivies. Or is that a decent score?

bump 10 char
:)

I know for sure I got at least 5 wrong on Bio M, which I felt was harder than the one in the CB practice book, which I got an 800 on. I got an 800 on the May test too…so, for whoever asked, the curve was better due to the increased relative difficulty.

Should I retake a 760 on Math 2 if I’m aiming for the Ivies or Stanford?

My son got a 760 in Math II in 8th grade and just retook it in May to get his 800. However, I do hear that 760 and 800 are pretty much the same. I just felt he should do it since he plans on being a math major and he’s already taken dif. equations, upper division dif. equations and is doing real analysis. I thought an 800 would be more consistent with his profile. He has a 730 on the Lit SAT II and that may stand unless he retakes it in October.

I think if you’re not going to be a math major, a 760 is a great score. What are your other SAT II scores?

My two cents: A 760 on most other subject tests would be great, but not really for Math II (unless you plan on majoring in a humanity humanity like cultural anthro or something of the sort).

If you are planning on studying anything remotely scientific/mathematical or if you know you can do better, retake the 760 Math II. If it were Math I, however, a 760’s damn good.

collegebound,

I feel the same way, I got a 710 on USH when I could’ve sworn I had gotten an 800. I’m sending my rescore tomorrow.

800 in Bio M.

I’m signed up to take Chem and Math II this weekend…but not so sure if I want to take chem. Do you guys think it’s okay if I just take something else instead of Chem (like…Spanish)?
Or if I just don’t take a third test at all (and just send in Bio M and Math II)?

Hmm I’m in the same situation… I got a a 780 on Math II, but I’ve taken Linear Algebra and Calculus already, doing Multivariable and Complex Analysis next year, so I feel like my courses and my grades alone are decent enough to make it not matter. I kind of fail on standardized math tests it feels like - I got a 780 on Math II and a 720 on SAT Reasoning Math - probably just make a few silly mistakes every time…

800 Chem
720 Math II
800 USH

Gonna retake the Math II as a BC Calc student next November. Hoping this will look great on my app for Brown and Columbia. SAT Reasoning this weekend, and hoping for 2200+.

What do you guys think will be the percentiles for:

800 Chemistry (93% in 2010)
800 Physics (90% in 2010)

My prediction is 91% Chem, 90% Physics

For those of you going for a rescore - How do you send for one? And does your rescore ever go down from what you scored originally?

anyone know the curve?

I don’t think anyone knows the curve exactly, but from what I heard (and experienced) the curve for Chemistry was good, and the curve for USH was bad…

760 Math II
750 Bio M

Being a pre-med hopeful, doing better in math than biology definitely surprised me! I know I could have done much better in bio; I did absolutely no studying because I was so wrung up over the precalculus test (mistake). Oh well! Mid-700s still satisfy me. :)

What constitutes a “good” or “bad” grade curve? Is a good curve tough or easy? feels out of it

It really bugs me that it’s already 6:30 AM EDT on June 1, yet the detailed reports aren’t out yet… :/
