May Sound Like a N00B Question, But Please Answer!

So i know for the SAT, most schools if not all do not take the writing section very seriously. Is that the case in any way for the ACT. Do they look less at any of the sections, ohhh for example the english section 'cough' 'cough'.

thanks to anyone that can answer.

They look at every section, although i think usually the most important is composite.

Or in other words, MATH section is very important, English is very important, reading and science are too.

if my composite is 25, and every section is above a 25, yet my english is at a 22... will they see my other 3 sections and know that i am not that dumb?

lol sorry about these weird questions i am just worried.

My daughter has the same problem (from June...still waiting for Sept scores). 31 Composite but a 24 in English. (35 M, 34 S, 29 R) When she is not timed she gets most of them right, but has a hard time with the 75 questions in 45 min. timing.

The answer to your question is pretty self explanatory. If you score dramatically lower on one section of the test, like English, colleges will think you are not so good at English, but much better at the other subjects. Being 'smart' is not an all-or-nothing deal. You're simply better at certain subjects than others, which is true of many students.

There is no reason for colleges to disregard English section scores or any other sections scores. Colleges receive all section scores as well as a composite, and look at each score.

amb3r, I think they were asking if colleges look at only the composite opposed to the subscores
