i’d say youre a match for EECS… though you should know eecs has something like a 12% acceptance rate. maybe you should apply for l&s CS, unless you’re pretty set on doing EE

btw your username made me draw wood

i like your username too

your grades are a bit iffy for EECS

Thank you for the replies :)

EECS is a current interest of mine (I planned on combining it with a pre-med track becaue I am interested in both).

Would I have a higher chance of getting into Berkeley if I applied to a Physical Sciences (chem/physics) or Biological sciences concentration.

P.S. My grades include 9th grade. How bad will it impact me? It is the worst on my transcript with a GPA of ~3.0. All GPAs after were 4.2+

If it’s only freshman year that you had those grades, then it looks like you’re in decent shape. I don’t think Berkeley puts much emphasis on 9th grade grades.

You would have a higher chance of getting into Berkeley if you applied into L&S instead of the College of Engineering.

You’re in luck! Berkeley doesn’t consider rank and to calculate your GPA, they use grades ONLY from your “a-g” courses in your sophomore and junior year. I’ve just spent the last two hours figuring this out and I’m positive about this. So forget about your freshmen year!

“a-g” courses include ones in your freshman year
