a lot of my friends found out in their acceptance packets how much money they would be receiving in financial merit aid. Ive been accepted to a number of schools but none of the acceptance packets include any information about financial aid. Is it just some schools that automatically decide how much merit aid a student gets upon acceptance? Or does every school do that and I just did not receive any merit scholarship money? thanks

It's school by school. Not every school does that.

yea, its usually an estimate too

Not all schools determine your aid packet right when you are accepted.

For example, myself. I was accepted in December, because I did Early Action. When my admissions packet came, there was nothing about financial aid. However, I had received a letter a few days prior letting me know that I was a candidate for some of the large school scholarships, but that decision isn't made until February-March. I have since paid my enrollment fee, so I'm sure I'll get something at some point in time about it. It really doesn't matter though, because I'm going to the school no matter how much they are willing to give me.
