maybe I'm just an ignorant fool, but it seems like there are tons of ignorant fools

BAM! That just happened.

Yeah, I still can't quote haha

@faustarp:
[ quote] words go here! [/ quote]
of course, remove the spaces in the brackets .
and more, if you want to specifically quote someone:
[ quote=Jesus] words!! [/ quote]

How about that!

I can't either :p

Wow some of these posters r really uptight. You don't understand why people celebrate the end of classes? No offense but get a life and stop judging people for being happy that classes are over (and xmas is coming!). I have a feeling that these events were much less dramatic than you described since I've never seen anything like this occur (the bullying part). Sorry but that had to be said since it seems like it's turning ppl off of the campus and making Cornell look pretty crappy. (I kno u were just venting but this is a public forum where ppl look for info on schools...)

To support CUAmbassador11:
Definitely rush. There are so many different kinds of houses...I feel like half the people who enter Greek life didn't expect to at first. There are just so many advantages to being Greek. If ur a guy I would 100% suggest it b/c rush week is sooo much fun for guys.

BigRed: I didn't mean to turn people off to the school. I was merely describing a few events I witnessed personally on campus. What people choose to take from these events is up to them (it would be pretty low to be turned off to a school because of one 'tale' by one student, wouldn't it?)

Also, I never judged anyone for being happy. That would be preposterous. I mentioned that I could understand why there may be some hijinx on the last day of classes (and some of the posters have mentioned some very convincing reasons to be happy/celebrate such as the sporadic departure of friends)- I just don't understand the needless harassment/endangerment of innocent passersby or public intoxication at such an early hour of the day.

I know what you mean bluedevelbball. I'm at a school where people are "happy" (for lack of a better word) pretty much 24/7 throughout the entire semester. This week begins our '24 hour quiet hour' period. what a joke...

As comments on this thread suggest, Cornell's in this odd position where people wait to see evidence of their suspicion that it's a school full of unqualified meatheads disgracing the name Ivy. Then they can pat themselves on the back for believing that they go / applied to a far superior institution.

From firsthand experience, I can ASSURE you that this same behavior happens at Dartmouth, Duke, Brown, MIT, Harvard, and all the other schools some people on this thread (including high school students who have never been to any of them) believe would never stoop so low.

It's the last day of classes. Relax.

o wow. and i thought Cornell was perfect.

"Cornell's in this odd position where people wait to see evidence of their suspicion that it's a school full of unqualified meatheads disgracing the name Ivy. Then they can pat themselves on the back for believing that they go / applied to a far superior institution."

Lol. Here we go with the cornellians with deep, gaping chips on their shoulders. saying something negative about cornell doesn't translate (at least not always) into people finding reasons for laundry lists pertaining to why cornell is inferior to the 'real' ivy's or other top tier schools. I never meant to insinuate anything of the sort- every place has its pros and cons, and these forums lend themselves to very passionately positive cornellians and potential cornellians who gasp at any single criticism about or frustration with cornell.

I suppose I can empathize with 'last day of classes' celebrators- but my original point was that it is shameful when it leads to law breaking and public mischief. that is all.

Public mischief is fine. Law breaking or being an ******* is not.

My friends and I put a canoe in a tree on our last day of classes my sophomore year. I'll see if I can't find a picture...

And... Applejack! Keep quiet! You weren't supposed to let anybody know how vastly inferior Cornell is relative to every other four year school in the country!

Hahahaha nice one Cayuga
Were you -gasp- the Tower Pumpkin culprit too?

Vastly inferior? I think you mean ridiculously inferior. Why is it even Ivy League, jeez.

(sarcasm btw, for all of you who are going to pounce on me for saying that)
