I had this paragraph in my acceptance.
"We have sent you an admissions packet by mail which includes instructions regarding the procedure for responding to our offer of admission. Please note that your admission is contingent upon the successful completion of your senior year. We would like to see your academic performance continue at the same level of excellence you have exhibited up to this point. You must also complete the classes in which you are currently enrolled. Please be sure to send us your mid-year and final transcripts when they are available."

Is this very standard? I sent in my first quarter grades, which were straight As with one B+ in AP Spanish. Are they saying that they will rescind my acceptance if I don't have the same grades as I sent in before? Or is this just what they say to everyone and they mean the usual "don't get too many Cs for the rest of the year" kind of thing? I only ask because this seems to be worded differently than most colleges' warnings to maintain grades.

Every school says that. Probably less than 5 people get their offers rescinded. If you stop going to class and fail everything, of course it’ll be removed. C’s and better is generally good enough…just don’t stop trying / going to school. You don’t have to maintain all A’s.

Exactly what marcdvl said. Every single school has the exact same policy, and there is nothing about the way Wash U worded it that makes it any different from any other school. Just don’t fail your classes.

Okay thanks so much! I was just concerned because my friend’s Northwestern acceptance had about one sentence about grade maintenance and my Case Western Reserve acceptance didn’t say anything.

But is that is standard for Wash U, then I can stop stressing! Thanks!

What about for the rest of the first semester? I only ask because my physics grade plummeted about last week, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to salvage it before the end of this quarter.
