This is from the CCU Theatre Facebook page. Thought I would add it here too. This is another great opportunity that CCU offers:

“Scripts are in for this year’s Maymester productions! Mark Hollman’s “Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls” was our inaugural “Maymester” staged reading last year, and this time around we are bringing both a play and a musical to campus. “Alligator” (written by Hillary Betis) and “Helen of Troy” (book by Zoe Samuel, lyrics by Doug Cohen) will rehearse May 5-11, with performances open to the public as well as industry professionals on Saturday the 12th. It is another wonderful opportunity for a little over 20 of our students, and we hope to keep workshopping new pieces at the end of every year.”

I attended the staged reading last year, then went back to see “Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls” when it was performed at Atlantic Stage earlier this year. It was great to see how the show evolved along the way, and really special to me to know the role the CCU students and faculty played in that evolution. Now if only I could fly up to Alaska to see it at Perseverance Theatre when it opens there this week!
