Does anyone know if I have a good shot at transferring into the Mays Business School with a 3.79 gpa from a Texas community college? I have decent essays and 1 really good letter of recommendation. I've completed 63 credit hours including financial/managerial accounting, micro/macroeconomics and business calculus 1 and 2. I just found out that A&M has rolling admission and the business school fills up quickly so now I'm freaking out. Any info would help!

Mays is really tough to transfer into, I wouldn’t want anyone to discourage you.
You should call and talk to an admissions. Or, it would be a really good idea to go to one of the prospective student centers and have a face to face talk with an admissions specialist there.

Will I still be considered competitive even if I haven’t completed 2 of the classes in Degree Track E? One class, speech, I’m currently enrolled in this semester. The other class, legal environment of business or something like that, is not offered at Dallas County Community Colleges.

Also, even if I get denied from Mays I will still be considered for the College of Liberal Arts as an economics major, right? I listed it as my second choice major on ApplyTexas. It says on the A&M website that the Mays Business School does not accept second choice majors. What does that mean?

I would call the DFW prospective student center in Arlington and make an appoiintment to see them for most of your questions.

If you put Mays College of Business as 2nd choice on you application - you will not be looked at. It is the same with several other colleges, I know Architecture college has the same 2nd choice policy.

And yes -if you are denied from Mays, you will still be considered for the college of liberal arts.

Oh ok. Thanks so much for the help!
