A friend told me that if an MBA program saw that you took a class pass-fail in your ugrad transcript, it reflects very poorly.

I am currently a ugrad at an Ivy League school with a GPA of 3.7. This semester, I took two classes pass-fail because they're not my Econ major (one was poli-sci, another was anthropology) and because I wasn't sure if I would do well in them. In both classes, I ended up with a B+. My school allows for us to uncover a pass-fail grade if we want, so that on the transcript, it would show the B+ instead of the Pass grade. I am reluctant to do so because it'll ultimately lower my GPA.

Should I take the hit and uncover a grade, because a pass grade would look even worse on my transcript? Or do MBA programs really don't care about these things as long as your overall GPA is decent and you get good grade in your major classes? In the bigger picture, how much does GPA matter?

Thanks!
