MBA in professional accounting or BS in accounting

Hello everyone! I am confused about my career options. I have the choice of either:

Majoring in Biology as an undergrad and then completing a MBA in professional accounting program through a BA/MBA at Rutgers. This was take a total of 4 years but it will cost more than option 2 (about 22,000 more)

Major in Accounting for undergrad. This also will take 4 years but will cost less.

I started college with Biology major and almost done with it, and I do like it so that is the rationale for number 1. The professional accounting program also offers more guidance than accounting undergrad (90% of the people in the MBA program are employed by graduation with average 60,000 salary). Also, both programs give me 150 credits for CPA.

Will an MBA benefit me for accounting? Are any jobs available that need a biology and business background or will my BA in biology be useless? Should I just dive right into accounting by majoring in it for undergrad?

Not necessary. In Texas’s CPA requirement, you need 24 business course credit, along with a 3 credit accounting ethic course. But it depends on your state, maybe your state doesn’t need to have those business elective credits, etc.

If it’s like that in your state, and you don’t have any business credit hours, you’ll need to take a few in graduate level or so forth.

Thanks for your reply. The CPA requirements are met for both options so that is not the problem. My question is which option would be best for me? Get a BA in Bio & then get an MBA in Professional Accounting OR Transfer to Business School now (I am a sophmore)
