I'm going to be a freshman in college soon and will be pursuing a major in Industrial Engineering. I'm wondering for graduate school whether it is best to have a Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering, or a dual-degree which would include a Master of Business Administration. I'm interested in both Business and Engineering. It seems that the dual-degree would be a 3-year degree instead of 2 years. Is it worth it? What jobs would require the dual degree? Thanks!

Focus on school life and academics your freshman and sophomore years. At the end of sophomore year is when you should start thinking about it.

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t get a MSE right after your bachelors, other than the fact you might pigeonhole yourself when you don’t want to. It would be silly to get an MBA right after your bachelors because one of the main purposes of getting an MBA is to facilitate a transition to another role or industry. Whether or not you choose to do a dual-degree, the decision will be 8+ years out and it’s impossible for you to predict your situation then right now.
