I have a biology undergrad with a minor in chemistry. About halfway through my undergrad I realized I hated studying biology and there was no way I could put up with dental school. So I went in for my MBA after I finished my undergrad. I have two semesters left for my MBA and I am still unsure of what I want to do. I don't have any "real" job experience. I am not against working in a science related field, but I just don't really have a clue what kind of opportunities are out there. I know the economy is horrible right now. I am looking for somewhere to get my foot in the door --start my career and make some decent money. I am somewhat interested in branding, but I know it's difficult field to enter. Any ideas?

Did you intern anywhere?

Look on Vault.com, your university will probably already have paid the fee for you. My uni's library has access and I've found their career overviews very helpful.

If you let us know what it is you think is attracting you to branding maybe we can help.

Bio is not a bad undergrad; did you get a BS or a BA.

I have a BS. No I am looking for an internship. Its hard finding a grad internship when I have no experience. I have looked at opportunities with in pharmaceutical companies for a possible starting point.

I'll check out vault- thanks.

im surprised more MBA zealots haven't criticized you for not getting work experience first, lol. give it time.

haoleboy; and I think you are seeing why you should never get your MBA without work experience. Not only for this reason, lack of direction, but also because if you know where you are going I personally you get more from the MBA education.

Consult with your school's career office.

Heyy guy!! I need some advicee pleasee!! I graduated from uconn may 2011 getting a Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Science year. Throughout my undergrad years my plan was med school or PA school. But once i graduated it changedn i fewl like i.m not ready for 8 years of commitment + its extremly hard. so.now i.m thinking about doing mba in genersl management in uni.of Hartford. Idk if its a right choice. I have done research in 2 differnt labs during my junior n senior year, wrote thesis, did volunteering at hospital. Also i worked at pfizer for 4 months for contrscted position but all were lab releted. Idk.if those experience would count for MBA. I kno its better if u.hv experience before u.go for MBA. Pleaseee helpppp. Idk wht should i.do. I cant think of anyghing. Dont know if i.m gonna get a job after getting MBA. P. Or shuld i just do.masters in neuroscience ? Soooo confused. Pleaseeeee give me some adviceeeeee

Hey Guys**** i meant lol sorry using my phonee. There might be more typing erros lol

If you get a Masters in Neuroscience then be prepared for a career in science.

Do some research on business careers. There are a lot of different options out there. Work for one or two years and then apply for business school.

There are also PSM(Professional science masters) programs that combine business and science if you’re interested in that.
