Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows how to calculate an MCA score for a transfer student to Cal Poly SLO.
I defer to @eyemygh but I found this on a community college website about how SLO evaluates a transfer application:
1st reading • GPA
• CSU & Cal Poly program required coursework
• General Ed
• Extra-curricular activities & work experience •
2nd reading
• California resident recently released veterans
• Service area (Based on high school graduation) • California community college junior transfers • SB 1440 applicants
• Father/mother level of education
• Cal Poly Faculty/staff dependent
I used to have an MCA example for transfers, but I never delved in too deeply. It is simultaneously less and more complicated. First, there’s a separate MCA for every major (I only had business and didn’t keep it), hence more complex. There are fewer confusing things though, thus less complex. In a nutshell, they look at GPA and how well you’ve done at taking the recommended classes. The higher the GPA and the more of the recommended classes you can check off, the higher your MCA. Sorry I can’t be more specific.
