<p>I TOTALLY DISAGREE with the comment on "you only become a dentist if you can't become a doctor". That is unfair, unfounded, and just plain stupid.</p>
<p>Your numbers are probably off. Temple's acceptance is probably around 10%, not 1%. My point is that there are many many schools on Temple's level that you can get into. It's essentially a mid-tier school and there are many similar schools with averages around 3.6/30ish. </p>
<p>This is different from, say, washU and its 3.8/36 requirement. You can get a 3.8/36 and not get into a top 5 med school. Whereas with a 3.5/30, you stand a decent chance at getting into a school in Temple's tier.</p>
