which one is easier? im thinking of mcb 61 b/c it's for non science people.

MCB 41: Genetics and Society
- pros: only 2 hrs of lecture & 1 hr of discussion
- cons: for ppl majoring in life sciences

MCB 61: Brain, Mind, and Behavior - w/ Professor Presti
- pros: good teacher; for ppl majoring in humanities and social sciences
- cons: 3 hrs of lecture & 1 hr of discussion

ALSO, what is a life science major? something very biological? b/c that's not good for me lol.

MCB and IB lower-divs are all for non-bio majors.
If you are a bio major, the only lower div bio classes that do you any good are Bio 1A+L and Bio 1B.

IB 35AC is pretty much the only other lower div bio class that helps bio majors because it an AC.

no you don’t understand my question. im just asking which class is easier and what are life sciences?

life sciences = biology majors, public health majors, enviro sci/ESPM majors etc.

Both MCB 41 and 61 are for non-science majors in.

but if MCB 41 is for life science majors, then that means it is science-y, you know what i mean? even though you say it’s for non-science majors.

so im guessing MCB 61 is soley for humanities majors so it should be easier, right?

“MCB and IB lower-divs are all for non-bio majors.”

Uh, no. MCB 32 + MCB 32L are lower division biology classes that are required for some bio majors (Nutri Sci, Moltox).

“Both MCB 41 and 61 are for non-science majors in.”

Again, no. MCB 61 is required for some science majors (Cognitive Science). If you mean biological sciences, then yes.

“but if MCB 41 is for life science majors, then that means it is science-y, you know what i mean? even though you say it’s for non-science majors.”

Yes, sort of. Majors offered by science departments will have some science involved even if the targeted students are not science majors. In the case of MCB courses, they will involve biological sciences.

“so im guessing MCB 61 is soley for humanities majors so it should be easier, right?”

Check the grade distributions on pickaprof and thecampusbuddy.

MCB 41 IS NOT for life science majors.
