McBride Scholar Program

I am interested in Bryn Mawr’s McBride Scholar Program for non-traditional age women. Does anyone have any knowledge of the admission process (i.e., how much emphasis is placed on prior SAT scores, GPA, interview, essays)? I have been out of high school for longer than I would like to admit and my SAT scores were not the best.

Hi Daisy,
McBrides are students who are at least 24 years of age. Bryn Mawr waives the SATs for McBrides. It is helpful, but not necessary, to have some solid, recent, college course work under your belt. If you've attended a community college or other accredited institution, that will be a benefit. Essays are important, interview is a MUST, recommendations are also important. Get in touch with the Dean of the McBride Program, Rona Pietrzak, and she will help you through the process. Good luck!

Hi I was wondering if there were averages or statistics of admitted mcbride students. Thanks!
