McCabe Scholarship

I'm sure that there have been many threads about this before, but I was wondering about the McCabe Scholarship. I was accepted ED I to Swarthmore, and I live in Delaware County. I have heard about McCabe, and I'm wondering if anybody knows the inside scoop on the scholarship.

Thanks,
Sozo

sorry for the duplicate posting -- see the next post

First: Congratulations!!

Now, on the Regional McCabe Scholarship, from the Swarthmore financial aid website:

The only solely merit-based scholarship program at Swarthmore College is the Regional McCabe Scholarship. Each year, two Regional McCabe Scholars are selected from the Delmarva Peninsula and two Regional McCabe Scholars are selected from Chester County, Montgomery County, or Delaware County in Pennsylvania. These four Regional McCabe Scholars receive a minimum of full tuition for each of their four years at Swarthmore (but more if they demonstrate financial need).

My impression is that no separate application or interview is required on your part -- they will consider you for one of the 2 Regional McCabe Scholarships from Chester County, Montgomery County, or Delaware County.

Congratulations!! I also got admitted ED to Swarthmore and I'm from Ghana. What do you think about us communicating till we meet enventually at swat. Holla bac!

Oh, you're from Ghana? That's so cool!

Hey, if you want to communicate with those of us who also got into Swarthmore ED1 this year (like me!) make sure to join the Swarthmore forum (swarthmoreforum.org) and if you want to join Facebook, about 60 of the kids accepted ED are in a group there. It's so cool meeting classmates already. :D

A Swat admissions counselor came to the H.S. and interviewed the kids that had applied to Swat. This was before anyone was accepted and most of these kids were not even admitted.

One student that received the McCabe in the past was offered it 10:00 pm the night before final decisions for colleges were due. I assume they had offered it to someone else who decided on another school that late in the game. This is an assumption though.
