I'm a "libertarian"

Many libertarians are Republicans without the moral hypocrisy. They're greedy and selfish, but at least they're honest about it and about wanting to get laid and do drugs.

But I do respect Sheed30's consistency, in that he wants ALL of his tax dollars withdrawn from government programs. Too many conservatives only rail against the relatively miniscule tax funds that help minorities and poor people while remaining silent on the vast amounts more spent on useless military expenditures that amount to little more than a dick-measuring contest.

God no. Bring the troops home ASAP is what I believe.
so, if you're so upset about making sure that israel is protected, why are you deadset the war against terror which is working in afganistan, kuwait, etc. to get the terror groups which are attacking israel?

be careful when you call people bigots. it upsets people.
Now that you've said you're not a Republican, I don't actually know if you support the War
what's that supposed to mean? not all republicans support the war. not all republicans are evil. quite basing opinions on stereotypes.

great point, nbachris. this is one of the biggest problems i have with much of the conservatives.

There was a court case about wheter or not citizens could challenge the way the government spent tax dollars, and the sum came to be that citizens can not challege.
As for supporting Israel, a large reason why our nation supports Israel is that several influential and wealthy ppl in our nation are Jewish, and they support Israel and they give the money to the politicians so the politicians support Israel. This is true for both Dem. and Rep. look at Obama and Hillary at the AIPAC. Another thing is that Israel is a place where American companies have invested. America spends money to protect its interests, thats why we don't challenge Saudi Arabia although they have a more oppressive government than Iran.

On a side note i am republican, but i am not dillusional as to the errors within foriegn policy. But no candidate is going to change our position with Israel. And we aren't going to send money to africa bc africa doesn't have stuff we want.

GodfatherBob, I think that it is wrong to lessen the work that Americans do, based on the fact that they do not do physical labor. I would argue that it is harder to do mental intensive work than physical work. And if someone's number one concern is money and they work everyday then they definitely deserve that money. (Btw this is not talking about taxes, but about the last line of your post)

Well this got pretty heated...

Good job CC! Here some of us are trying to respectfully share our opinion, and all some people can do is swear and assume things, and attack other CCers. Good job! I think certain CCers have hit a whole new level of reasoning! This is why I will not share my reasoning or opinion; some of you can’t handle it.

McCain 14
Obama 28
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)

Haven't made my mind up about who I'm going to waste my vote on.

McCain 15
Obama 28
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)

My reasoning for McCain:

Energy policy: I am a huge advocate of alaska and ofshore drilling and nuclear power, there is absolutely no good reason not to.

Healthcare: Socialized healthcare would be the biggest disaster since social security

Bipartisinship: I hate how our political system is set up, i dont care for party politics at all. I believe McCain will make his decisions based on what he thinks is best for the American people, not the party line.

Iraq: The surge IS working, even Obama sees that now with his wafling policy, McCain will finish Iraq and keep our military strong, while Obama dosent know what he wants and favors nuclear disarerment

Social Policy: I believe affirmitave action is THE most ridiculous, wrong, and useless social policy devised in the last century. Under Obama we would only see it expanded.

Judicial Branch: Obama says he believes that Ginsberg is a model justice, on the contrary the woman should be institutionalized.

Last but not least it seems as if my favorite candidate overall, Romney, will be VP. In the case McCain kicks the bucket we will have a competent VP, not some psychopath Obama will nominate.

Im open to arguments

McCain 15
Obama 28
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

I refuse to put Nader under "other". I'm only voting for him because his name is cool.

McCain 16
Obama 28
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

McCain 16
Obama 29
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

McCain is a senile old fool.

McCain 16
Obama 30
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

McCain 16
Obama 31
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

McCain 16
Obama 32
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 3
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

why can't we vote NO on the candidates?
as in NO! go back and get us some other candidates.

McCain 16
Obama 31
Barr 1 (possibly 3)
Other 4
Ron Paul (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

Sounds like the rallying cry of a conservative who just can't bring himself to vote for a 72-year old Iraq war-drummer. And the alternative? A black liberal? Oh lord have mercy!

Barr (possibly 3)
Other 4
Ron Paul 1 (possibly 1)
Ralph Nader 1

I didn't know ron paul with in this....

ZOMG why Obama???.....Here, ladies and gentlemen, is my Obama impression:
"Dream!.......Hope!.........WE CAN!..........Dream..again...."

"Uh, Mr. President, do you have foreign relations experience....at all?"

"NONE! but I can DREAM!"

"Uhh, Mr. President, do you have actual, practical plans to bring about these 'dreams,' or do you just like saying the word??"

"DREAM! HOPE, TOO!"

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
I can't believe how many of you seemingly intelligent people can possibly get won over by his sappy, illogical political BS.
On the issues side, universal healthcare SUCKS. and abortion is completely unethical, whether you're reilgious or not (See "Hand of God" by Bernard Nathanson)

I don't even like McCain (or Ronnie) but he's the only viable alternative. Lesser of two evils. waitt........COLBERT! lol

^

You call that an impression? You make Jimmy Fallon look like Frank Caliendo.

And you do realize that Stephen Colbert is laughing at all you conservatives, or are you unable to register satire?
